Today were the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds
for Jeff, Jonathan and Russell, and for the men’s compound team. We got
to the field at 8:00 to watch them practice. Courtney retrieved arrows
for Jeff. Jonathan was first up with his semifinal round; then came
Russell and finally Jeff shot close to noon. The winner would advance
to the gold medal round and the loser to the bronze medal match. This
was head to head competition. Jonathan and Russell lost their matches
and so will advance to the bronze medal match on Saturday. Jeff won his
match and is going for the gold. The team lost their match so they will
not be advancing.
This
evening, Kallie, our team leader, arranged for us to take the bus to Nymburk
for pizza. We loaded up and drove to a nice pizzeria where we ate al
fresco. This was a great alternative to the usual chicken and rice and
everyone really enjoyed it. We even got ice cream afterward. The
bus picked us up at 9:00 and brought us back to the sport center safe and
sound.
Tomorrow
is a free day. We’ve been invited by Paul and Ruben from
Belgium
to go to
Prague. We’ll meet at breakfast at
7:00 and make our plans. We‘ll take a taxi to the train station and
then take the train to old
Prague.
Should be a great adventure!
Sorry
about the photos of the day page not working. It got messed up and I haven’t had time to fix
it. I’ll try to get it up and running soon. |
